Hello. Anime North needs volunteers to help run events at the convention, doing jobs like stuffing registration packages, helping out backstage at the Masquerade (i.e. making sure everyone has enough water), and helping to set-up / tear down for events.
Volunteers earn rewards depending on how many hours they put in at the con, upto and including a full refund of your convention membership. In addition, a LIMITED amount of Crash Space (a piece of hotel room floor to sleep on) is available for volunteers.
To volunteer, just come up the Volunteers Desk at the Doubletree Hotel during the con and sign up. You'll be shown a schedule of jobs we need people for, and you can sign up for however many hours you want.
There will be a Volunteer's Orientation Meeting held about three weeks before the con (see following message). It is NOT necessary for you to attend this meeting in order to volunteer for the con, it is a Volunteers 101 for those who have never volunteered at a con before. In addition, those who come will be able to sign up for volunteers slots in advance, in case there's a particular area of the con you wish to help out in.
