An Cafe is gonna be at FanimeCon on that weekend, so they're out of the question... (And I dont think Malice Mizer exists anymore)...
My wish list includes: Gackt Abingdon Boys School Miyavi Nightmare Dir en Gray Maximum the hormone L.M.C. (*the ones at the end of my short list are the ones I want most!)

If I can, I'd like to make a request for AN'09!!
Well, I'd REALLY love the Guest of Honour(s) next year to be a Jrock band, 'cause we usually have Jpop artists perform at AN. (Of course, I have absolutely nothing against Jpop but it would be great to have a band come next time) I know we probably have slim chances with bands like Dir en Grey... so I think inviting bands that are more likely willing to go overseas (like RENTRER EN SOI, Duel Jewel, Charlotte, Versailles, Dacco, etc.) would be great since they've performed at conventions in US and Europe and such before. There are soo many other indie bands are always great to invite, too of course =) My unrealistic-ish wishlist: alice nine. MUCC UnsraW 176BIZ heidi. exist trace Miyavi (just went on world tour T~T) and SuG! |

I don't think we'd be able to get Dir en Grey (they're doing too well independently; they don't need an anime convention to gain popularity anymore X3) I'd still very much like Versailles to get over here (and they can still keep their name too~!), exist trace would be so damn cool to have over here (I can provide a connection to them if AN organizers want...), Plastic Tree would be nice to have over here (but I think most of the kids here would want someone more hard rocking...) But y'know, if the AN organizers are being picky and want someone who's actually done something for an anime, let's get Kanon Wakeshima over here then? Nana Kitade? Nightmare? I know the Deathnote kids wouldn't mind Nightmare over here. Actually, it'd be really cool to have Nightmare as the guests of honour. X3 Forgive me for being annoying, but after being looked over so many times, it's kinda hard to accept the excuses. |

Good point on Dir en grey. Heck, their last album saw a release here before it even hit stores in Japan.
I just wish people were a little more open-minded to something completely different instead of giving us the same-old j-pop and j-rock artists that everyone knows. Yes, we know, Miyavi is awesome and so is Gazette and Nightmare. Now can we please, as a culture, get over it? I'd like to see someone completely unlikely to show up. Of course, you'd never get a death metal band like Sigh over here for Anime North (although they have played some Canadian shows recently, including one in my hometown), but I think it'd be awesome to see someone that isn't a Japanese Oricon hit-maker. Too bad in today's corporate world, that could never happen
