If you have an idea for a new contest, write up a formal proposal and submit it to programming@animenorth.com. It doesn't have to be long or fancy, but you need to include the following info:
Your Name, the names of any helpers and any experience you have in putting together contests or events in the past (ie - at school or your anime club) Or if an Anime Club wants to submit a proposal to run an event under their banner, we'll consider that too.
Concept - a sentence or two explaining the idea behind the contest.
Rules & Structure - how is it played? How are the players picked? How are the winners decided? Do contestants have to prepare something before the con (AMVs, Cosplay) or just show up and play (Anime Name That Tune)?
Duration - One time event (You Don't Know Anime) or all weekend (BR-Tag)?
Requirements - don't have to be exact just a rough idea of what you'd need to make the contest happen successfully -
Function Space - what size room(s)? For how long? Include setup and tear down time.
Materials - A/V equipment? Whiteboards? Props? Photocopying?
Staff - how many helpers?
Prizes - How many? What value?
Budget - Try to keep the price down as much as possible.
Any other info that might help to convince us to go with your idea. And contact info so we can follow up.
