* NOTE THIS IS NOT OFFICIAL INFORMATION *

This is only based on my experience and expectations from last year.

How the main desk was handled was slightly poor, but none the less, there was a volunteer table beside it.
Either to receive your hours paper, get your swag, money or crash space or see where you can help out, that's usually the place to go.
I don't know about the volunteers who fill up bags and help out in the dealers room, but Spec Ops functioned differently.

PLEASE DO NOT FLOOD SPEC OPs WITH MANY REQUESTS, IF YOU VOLUNTEER, STAY UNDER YOUR LIUTENENT'S GUIDE, SUPERVISION AND AREA.
-This is just advice from the wise

1) To become a Spec Ops (aka. Crowd control, line control. Performance handling, special operations, security, medics, etc.) go to the back of the hotel, and look for the office of the Spec Ops adjecent from the Japanese restaurant.

2) You'll be put into a certain area;
If you have no special 'thing' that you can do. You'll patrol either the TCC or the DT in the hallways to guide people to their destination, or check that there is no horseplay in the commonareas such as the gaming and video rooms area or the lobby.
If you have interest and experience to be, then you can be on a special group that deals on security. Self explanitory for the most part.
If you have medicine practice or physician experience (properly) you may help out as a medic as well.

3) After you are done your hours, you have your supervisor (liutenent) sign the AnimeNorth volunteer hour sheet and return to the desk for your swag or whatever you were working for. Or just bring it back home for volunteer hours, those of you in high school.

*As well, it is believed that people that are around the ages of 14-16 are let in, based on their dicipline or lack or complete horseplay. But either way, who'd want someone that screws around alot being their security if anything happens?

Good luck to future volunteers and I hope this helped.
As well, I hope my experience and this post will be made to better help, or organize the volunteer system which was visually, absent on friday and saturday.
I also ask if I could help out for setting up or as well helping to organize the volunteering for AnimeNorth.
