Do digital signatures count? What is the last day to add/change a secondary artist or helper? How do I contact the Comic Market Staff or the Exhibitors Director? With the attendance cap this year, what happens to last minute cancellations? Do time stamps matter? No. The only time they matter is if your application is marked at 10:59pm and earlier of the opening date. I think I sent my application at 10:59, should I resend it? We ask that you DO NOT RESEND YOUR APPLICATION unless you noticed you had sent it at 10:59 pm or earlier. It will just make a bigger mess in the inbox which has been sorted and assigned to a staff member. The more work you give us, the longer this process will take. Can I sell another artist’s work that is not registered in the Comic Market? No. Can I sell cellphone charms in an Acrylic case? Yes, as long as the inside media is printed on paper. Do digital signatures count? No, please take the time to sign your work by hand. (Handmade stamp signatures are fine.) When is the last day to add/change a secondary artist or helper? April 6 2012. DO NOT note the coordinator in yuku boards. She will not likely get your inquiry. With the attendance cap this year, what happens to last minute cancellations? This year, last minute cancellations will only go to the waiting list. We will keep the waiting list until the night before the first day of the convention and artists in the waiting list have the option to opt out at any time. We do not know how many last minute cancellations we get until it happens so we cannot give you an approximate. There is a common misunderstanding about empty tables at the convention. They are not cancellations but these are tables with artists who have notified us that they are coming later in the day or on Saturday due to travel issues. At times, artists also leave early to attend events in the convention. Please be aware: Selling your badges or your table at the convention is a breach of Comic Market Policy. Badge swapping is forbidden at Anime North as stipulated by badge policy. It is a breach of Comic Market Policy to sell 3D media not outlined in the contract (i.e. hats are banned but buttons are ok) Shrinky Dinks are not to be sold in the Comic Market under any circumstances. If you are caught by staff, or reported (with proof) by peers selling them you will be removed from the Comic Market immediately. Please note all of the above are Ban-able Offences to the Comic Market and will result to the automatic denial of your reservation request. Please make sure you read the Comic Market and Convention Policies for more details on these and other ban-able offences. Posts: 1 Feb 6 12 9:02 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	So, this year will be my first at Anime North, and so I just want clarification when it comes to the signatures: you want us to take a physical copy of one of our prints, physically sign it, and then take a photo or scan it, am I right? Posts: 8 Feb 6 12 2:43 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Yes, please submit a scan or copy of a print with a physical signature. The only things not accepted as far as signatures are concerned are typed signatures. If your signature is a stamp (i.e. the carved wooden stamps with chinese characters) it is accepted but you may be asked to submit additional artwork to prove it is your signature, so its best just to sign it by hand if you have the option.

Last year I signed a work by hand with the use of a tablet and did not have any problems. Posts: 50 Feb 7 12 11:03 AM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	One thing I've been wondering about for a while, as part of the CM's registration procedure it calls for a detailed list of merchandise. How detailed does this list need to be? Are you guys just looking for a list of our merchandise(prints, buttons, bookmarks, etc.)? The size and quantity of our nerchandise(20 8x10" prints, 10 2x6" bookmarks)? Or possibly everything I've just listed including which anime series/video game/movie/(perhaps) live action series that the artwork comes from? Buttons - Mylar and metal buttons Bookmarks - Laminated paper Keychains - Laminated paper with key ring and mini paper prints in pre-made acrylic casing Paper Prints - Mostly General Audience content Basically, a list like this would give us an easier idea of what you plan to sell. So when the convention days strikes, we do not get a huge surprise that there was an item in your list that was actually not allowed. For example: You only listed "Keychains", but you were actually planning to sell keychains printed directly on plastic or those shrinky dink sheets (which is also plastic). Because that is a 2D item reserved for crafters, you would not be allowed to sell them. In regards to prints and listing if you have only General or adult content (it's not a must but it helps), this will give staff a heads up that we are expecting something from you for approval. For example if the print had certain texture overlay or font as part of the whole image, and we decide to change it before getting it printed, do we need to let the CM staff know of this? When we sign up and say that we have already pre-registered that is fine and then we just attach a print out of our PDF to the sheets that we send, but what about our helper...should we say that they have already pre-registered as well and attach their copies or should we send their pre-registration with the initial reservation. Thanks and sorry if that was confusing. ♥ My DeviantART ♥

Will the staff bar your images if they're changed in any way? They'll prefer a finished work as your sample but if you plan to make changes to that print in future, that shouldn't matter. They will be focusing on the consistency of the artwork samples and the signatures during the screening process. Best thing to do is not to send works that are entirely different from each other. Some bad examples of artworks one may send is: one sample a landscape, the other a chibi. Or one sample a chibi, the other of an animal. One is abstract, the other realism. Just like last year, they will be receiving a separate registration package from us directly and it will be their responsibility to submit that proof of pre-regsitration to us as instructed on the package. So don't forget to submit to the CM staff your helper/second artist's e-mail and full name. If you don't have that information, it will hold your application back during processing. I am part of a studio group that plans to do a artbook (compilation including somewhere from 5-10 artists) as well as prints of my own work. In the past there is the Art Group option for sign up but it's not there this year, and I'm wondering what is the maximum number of secondary artists/helpers that can be registered to one table? Would I be able to list all the artists contributing to the artbook as secondary artists, or would I not be allowed to sell the artbook at all if one or more is not registered for CM? (All of the contributing artists are planning to attend AN, some of them are also registering for their own tables for their individual prints, but not everyone will be getting their own individual table.) -> also, if I were unsuccessful in getting a table, would another member of the studio who successfully get a table be able to register all artists involved in the artbook to their table and sell the artbook at their table? Could individual prints of these art from multiple artists be sold? I think we may have some pieces that had multiple artists working on the same image. 2) You said that final products for the picture samples are preferred, but I have not yet finished artwork for the coming AN. I have some pencil drawings which I plan to sell at AN'12 that I plan to colour in later, would those suffice as examples? Also, do I have to scan the artwork or would taking a picture with a digital camera be accepted? Should I send in more than 2 examples, or do you want exactly 2 examples? (I have some older artwork but I'm not sure if I can find them at this time and they're in a completely different style than what I plan to sell at AN so I don't actually have any completed examples of artwork for examples at the moment) Last Edited By: KuraKaze Mar 1 12 3:09 PM. Posts: 607 Mar 1 12 3:40 PM Artist Alley Staff Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	We allow the sale of Artbooks involving more than the names registered to the table, so long as the two individuals registered to the table are involved in that artbook as artists. You can find this information on Section A.1 Merchandise in the "Sale and Display of Merchandise" of the policy. Section B.1 of that same area also answers your questions about print collaberations. Only a 50-50 effort on the print by the registered artist and a collaberator can be sold at the table. You cannot sell prints for other artists due to their involvement to the art book. If there is more than 2 participants to that print, then it cannot be sold unless all members are registered to the comic market. You will only have a maximum amount of one helper or Secondary artist. No more than that. We prefer a finished work or at least a sample that will show the consistency of your current work or what work you will represent at the convention and 2 samples will be enough. If you do not have a finished work, we need something that is at least not a sketch or anything too messy. We need it to be a solid sample of your work. We also prefer a scan as photographs can be blurry or too dark. So if you have a scanner, we ask that you scan it. J Simon Exhibitors Director kouken_sasarai[at]hotmail[dot]com

We don't particularly mind if you give us more than 2 samples, but having more samples to go through will also place more work for the staff member processing your request. We also don't particularly mind so long as people can be patient with us. If you think two samples isn't enough to justify your body of work as an artist, then you may go ahead. Since everyone's clocks vary by a few seconds, are Comic Market staff going by an 'official' time listed on a specific website? I don't want to send in my application on 11:00pm on the dot as per my computer clock for it to be two seconds early by staff times. Just to verify the signatures on image examples, both my examples are signed via tablet in the image. Is this ok? Also I can scan my signature in and add that to the email if it makes verifying things easier. Much appreciated, thanks!
