I guess this year, I'm going to pretty much be the one to introduce this section to ANGaming for the first time, maybe to bring back the nostalgia and to provide challenges to the players that desire so. For this section, I'll be bringing in the following games, given that I have enough resources to provide for this section. [PCB] ESPGaluda II [JP-360] Deathsmiles [now with Mega Black Label] [JP-360] Raiden IV [US-360] Raiden Fighters ACES [PS2] IBARA [PS2] Mushihimesama (pictured above) And for many otakus out there, I'll most likely have a Touhou section set up as well. However, keep in mind that they will be hacked so that continues are disabled. If so, this just might be the thing to convince me to head over to the Renaissance for some gaming. Btw, are you interested at in being a panelist for a Touhou panel? If you are, there's a proposition for a Touhou panel buried in the Panels/Workshops board, but we'd probably need another person or two to guarantee that it goes forward.

There may be a chance of Ketsui being in this panel as well. I'll also be providing an arcade stick for the 360 for use on Deathsmiles and various other shooters on the Japanese 360. As for your proposition, I might be interested, but I'm not familiar with every single character in the Touhou series, so I'm not as knowledgable at it as you may think I am.

Cool, I think I'll have to find some time for this, especially if you can bring Ketsui. I haven't played it yet, and I'd definitely want to try it out. As for the Touhou panel, I think it's ok if you don't know everything about it. You obviously have a lot of interest in shmups, so you can speak to that aspect of Touhou. That said, I'd say it is still a long shot unless we can find two other people, but I'd personally love to have a Touhou panel at AN this year.

I really wish I didn't slack off this month and worked hard to get a Rinnosuke costume going... my loss! Here's hoping we see some female cosplayers representing the series though! Touhou panel? If you guys get something going I hope it will be easy to find, I'd love to be present for such discussion. Lastly, though I don't particularly prefer it as a single player game, Phantasmagoria of Flower View (Touhou 9) might be worth seeing as a competitive shmup.

Maybe with SFKhoa's shmups area, it will generate enough interest in Touhou to have one next year. Is anyone going to be playing Scarlet Weather Rhapsody at all this year?

If I can find a willing female for next year, I would definitely contribute towards getting her into a Reimu cosplay. It was cool to see all the other Touhou T-shirts too. The Reimu one was awesome (my camera somehow ate my pictures of it, btw, >( ). Kudos to the EoSD shirt and the Walfas Cirno shirt. I guess you managed to snag that before he had to take down his Touhou shirts; kinda sucks for me because I wanted a Reimu Burger one and a Nitori Science shirt. Next year, I think I'm going to try and get an Orin shirt to go along with my Alice one. SFKhoa and I have decided to aim again for a Touhou panel, so here's the early head's up. Let's get the word out and see this happen! The shmups section was a lot of fun! I hope that next year it'll be back, because I had a blast and got to meet a bunch of cool people.

What I use currently is a bluetooth dongle and my Wiimote/Classic Controller. I believe an xbox controller would also work well. Or, you know... mostly any gaming controller for a computer, heh. But I assume xbox controllers and wiimotes are already plentiful, and a bluetooth dongle only costs about $10.

I've heard nothing but terrible things with regards to using that controller for a fighter. I personally use a HRAP2 with a PS2 to USB adapter for playing shmups at home (except the PC-98 Touhou games, because I can't seem to map all the buttons on my controllers), and for fighters, I switch to a Dualshock 2. I've got a 1 controller, and a 2 controller adapter for PS2 to USB, and they're pretty cheap. They're only around $20 if I remember correctly. Aside from me borrowing a stick and adapter, I don't remember what anyone else was using on the laptops.
