I'm not, why should you? I'm just going to see to it that people dance from when we start until when we close. I'll be playing stuff you hope to hear, and stuff you really don't expect. Remember, it's not just J-Rave stuff, you might hear mixes by Armin Van Buuren, DJ Tiesto, Yoav, Daft Punk......
So are we talking jungle, happy hardcore, hardcore, breaks, trance, electro...or what?
I mean, now that we're not confined to mainstream theme songs can we expect to hear ANY of the above (all qualifying as 'rave music,' after all) at the party?

Also, is there any way of arranging for the rave- in true 'rave style'- to continue past mainstream club closing time (2am)?
You're kidding, right? It's only Friday night - there's still two other days to go. Do you want to burn out and be ruined for the rest of the
weekend? No, 2am is the closing time that's been set by the scheduling committee. Remember, there are volunteers involved that have to stick around after
everyone leaves so they can clean up and get the room set for the next day, and they need to sleep too, so they can be back at it first thing in the morning.
(That includes me.......)

Running a rave past 2am on friday night would be a little overkill for most con-goers. They wouldn't make it through the weekend.
Besides, this is the first time this is being tried at this con. If it works well, and people give good, positive feedback, then perhaps the committee
might consider allowing another one for 2009. If 95% of the people have a good time but don't say anything, and the 5% that didn't have a good time
are very vocal (because I didn't spin "this song" or "this genre" or "this group/mix/band/") then don't look for it back.
Just because there's one this year, that doesn't mean it's a done deal for years to come!
So, we need to play nice, finish on time, behave, and not cause any problems.

The "rave" last year was brutal. Boring music, awful acoustics, and little to no visual stimulation. Thank god they're putting it back in the doubletree this year. The "rave" 2 years ago was much more fun.
