I was just wondering if it was happening or not... because the last year, all the regist and audition process was explain back in January.
I'm wondering if it's held on another yuku forum, like the Moonlight Ball volunteer topics.

yeah i was wondering the same...i would really like to participate this year..but i'm not gonna start memorizing songs if it's not gonna happen...but i
would like to know if its happening so i kinda start memorizing songs..know what i mean?

unfortunately, there is no time in the schedule for j-star this year. Also, those who were incharge of this event are unavailable this year.

One slight correction - J-Star was given a guaranteed time slot months ago. However, if the organizers are no longer available, then it looks like it
won't be happening after all. I'll be talking to the current staff to see if they have plans for anything similar.

If there was someone willing to run the A/V... we can turn it to be something more popular, and just turn it into a bigger Idol kind of deal.
I'd want to run the organization and the show itself. More like a pre-reg and show up kind of deal. Just have your vocal-less/karaoke track ready for the day, and the crowd decides who goes onto the next round, of course the judges judge the crowd's reaction AND the singer too. With only less then 2 months left, anyone want to collaborate together and maybe take that time slot? (When is the timeslot? I know it should be atleast two days? Or one day, 3 hours... something to that extent. 2006's J-star was REALLY empty...) Coming onto the idea of the Idol thing, it could be anything related to anime or the Japanese culture, whether be it in English, Japanese, Korean or Chinese! I believe that makes it better to draw in more audience since there's more... variation? Any thoughts, comments, critic? Edit; 03.27.08; Heh, I went ahead and did it. I made The Unofficial Anime North 2008 Idol Forum! Even though there's a 50/50 chance of it not even happening, why not just get involved if there's even the slightest of chances of it happening? Plus it's a nice little community to critic or idolize (just the point of the very event itself!) singers who post their recordings!

The idea sounds very similar to J-idol which happened 2 years ago, and from the looks of it, it seemed really popular so the idea would totally fly!

I'm hoping to put together a team for this year, where auditions will be at event with a database of pre-recommended songs by the singers/dancers (no
traditional/cultural competition this year, it'll take too long and too many resources).
