For late comers, go to Swiss Chalet after 4:30pm and try to find a small group of
black suits and yellow vests sitting with congoers.

If your name has a star beside it, you are not confirmed to be there, but your place will still be held. Please post if you are coming for sure.

Now I will max this unofficial event and say that only 30 people can... well I don't know what it is I'm stopping people from doing, but I guess, from saying that they're coming.
If you're still coming and you're not on the list, then by all means join us, but we might already take up a 1/4th of the restaurant, with 25 people and more expectant...
I'd probably wanted to cap it at 15-20 earlier, but that wouldn't do any good anyway, so we'll wait as a group of 30 people to eat.

If not, I have an idea to make this an event where we can probably make it into a... sort of picnic.
Anyone want to throw ideas out here?
I thought of taking everyone's order, and have a few people tag with me to get the food, and come back to our large circle/oval in the grass infront of the TCC and just have fun. Where people can come and go as they like. Of course, taking people's orders I'd still have to be paid back, that or I'll be taking payments prior somehow.

And another idea hit me.
There's a sushi store near where I live, and I can get people's orders for a great price!
Mostly rice dishes, but this is Anime North, and Chicken+Ribs doesn't really suit the theme.

Here's the menu (please ask/pm me if you don't see what you might want in terms of sashimi, sushi, maki or handrolls);

RICE (comes with miso soup)
Chicken Teriyaki - $4
Deep Fried Pork - $5
Beef Teriyaki - $5
Steamed Salmon Teriyaki - $6
*for udon instead of rice, add $1.

I enjoy the picnic idea alot. But personally that's my opinion, and people can run off for errands get food, and such like gather a group of people, from that list, that way we get cheaper food if there are cheaper corner stores around, or cheaper restaurants...and people will have fun doing so ^_^ Personally the picnic idea sounds cool...despite the fact that I'm allergic to the sun and all but I've got an umbrella to shade me.

Oh and sushi...isn't really my thing...but that's just me. Speaking of list...I've got the answer of 3 other of my group members, Al, Kimmi, Ben that will be attending but that's not all. I hope to recieve more news later on.

I like the picnic idea. This gives us a bit more freedom with everything compared to when we have the gathering at the swiss chalet. This also gives us an opportunity to observe everything that's happening around TCC (or the otherway around). There might also be a few more people that will come to join us just because they saw us there. Anyway, whichever way the gathering goes, Me and my sister will definitely be there.

Picnic does sounds fun (I made one this weekend with around 15 people... In the midle of a park all cosplaying out of nowhere, but nonetheless it was great!).

That way we can buy whatever we want, and eat when we want without having to wait. Plus, since it's pretty much the first event of the day, there's enough time to bring our stuff for picnic with us without having to run back and forth to the hotel/restaurant etc. Just have to resists tempatation to make onigiri this time (25 is far too much, should have thought of that beforehand...)

Well, looks like it'll have to be a picnic with this many people. I think I'll bring in a delivery from Downtown Toronto's TOP sushi restaurant.

Ya just to help out I might buy some things along with the picnic so people can snack off from me if they desire it.
Then there'll be a good veriety of things that people can work with, and eat...as for me...sushi doesn't settle in to well. I'm not trying to be fussy or anything and I'm terribly sorry for saying so. ^_^ If people enjoy my idea, why not list a group of things you might like here. So I can help you people get it ^_^ WOOT.

One of my friend has allergies to many things (normally she goes for stuff she knows), so I think we'll just bring our own food, it will be safer that way (we don't want our Chrono in bed for the rest of the convention!).
Therefore, gotta know where I can find either a sushi shop or a grocery store in Toronto (aka not 2 hours away from the convention please!)

Though I don't think I'll be able to go buy food for others, sorry... My hands will already be full with my sword, accessories and our own food XD

The store that's a bit cheaper for a larger portion is actually right by where I live, on the other side of the city, at 401 & McCowan for any of you torontonians.
But I might choose a downtown alternative where it'll be a bit more expensive. But at $10 per bentou (not, not just meat and rice, but also sushi, very small salad, miso and dumplings) it's a MUCH more larger and satisfying order. Just yesterday I was there eating, and really slowly as the atmosphere was great in the restaurant (Sushi Time, again for Torontonians, on Queen) and even though I only finished half of the meal because of parking, I wasn't feeling any empty at all.
I'm going to grab a menu from them soon, and present options soon.

Wonder if there are some grocery stores that sell sushi like here, I quite like Metro's sushis... Oh well, we'll see once there I guess (gotta find the name of the popular stores though, not sure there's a provigo, maxi, super c or stuff like that in Toronto...)

Actually, that makes me wonder if I can manage to buy them thursday evening here instead of buying them friday... Would be simpler. Have to check if it's ok in a cooler though (or buy a car electric one for my father's birthday XD)

Maybe we'll have a meet on Thursday for people who ARE arriving sooner, and DO have cars (whether rental or local).
Then we can go out to places to get stuff. There's actually a Fortino's very close by to get food at (it's like the equivalent of Sobey's or A&P in the US).
For Sushi, people can come with me to get it, or help transport it over to the DoubleTree from Downtown, or I might get it delivered instead.

If anyone has a good recommendation for any other kinds of food that relate to Anime (North), then please do speak up!
