Don't know when the other winners will be declared, but Shilin has already won the grand prize. again.
Congrats to her and all, but it's soo unfair! I know it's based on how nice the artwork is and how it fits the theme, but I believe other contestants should have been given a chance to win this year :X

Well, I don't mind that she's majoring in music; she seems to have future artistic ambitions, I mean her work is of a very high calibre, but still I don't think she deserved to win twice ^^; About using AA tables as gaining experience and exposure, I completely agree with you there, tuffstuffkid--I mean, she has a LOT of exposure already, from last year, and from her existing personal work. I think newer artists (or artists who have not won in previous years) to be awarded that table. I can't say I'm jealous, because I don't draw at all XD, but it almost seems like favouritism for the AA panel or whoever the judges were to choose the same winning artist...of course they'd want a 'nice' cover for the program book, but still... Featuring the 'same' style for Momiji by the same artists sort of gives off the impression that hers is the standard and thus becomes what AN/AA prefers to represent Momiji :X

I know there's nothing anyone could do at this point, but I sincerely hope AA/AN would make some sort of contestant policy for the contest, heck maybe even age group categories would be a good idea (not saying that age necessarily dictate artistic ability), as it gives younger/newer artists a better chance at winning and exposing their work.

Don't think anyone's whining here, just voicing our opinions--though if there are extremely worthy runners-ups, why not feature someone new this year? (sort of a rhetorical question, no answer required). Had the current artist not have won, she would have had no hard feelings about it, since she has won last year, and also, electing a new winner just seems to make so much more sense, at least in my opion that is. Certainly, the judging panel must have pondered at permitting the same artist to win twice in a row. There is no doubt that the decision must have been hard, and what's done is done--artistically, maybe the current winning entry is justified, perhaps it is the best, but by standards of fairness to other entries with high potential--I don't think the decision was fairly justified. FYI, even if new contest regulations were to be made for future contests--sure they might seem as if they were made to 'pacify' complaints by certain people, but the complaints are the very elements that point out the need for a review of the rules and fairness.

Looking forward to seeing the rest of the entries though. At least those would be judged fairly I hope.
