I'll have to look for these free-standing closets too! It might be a more viable option than making my display grid thing free-standing. I'd probably have to weld something together to make that happen, although I do have an existing system (it's just not very pretty to look at, so I don't really like to use it). Thanks for the photos, ArmaStama! There is tons of space behind your table, so I see what people have been saying is quite true. I figured that the convention would be in a large warehouse-type space with high ceilings, but I just thought I'd ask and make sure. Thanks again! <3

So, one of my displays is made out of wire and another that I'm trying out this year, are some plastic tray-like things that I bought at one of those places that sell storage items. From first-hand knowledge, you can't tell from the photo, but that grid is mighty heavy and they don't sell free-standing supports for it (meaning you have to mount it on a wall). Shulte is also comparitively expensive. I have tried having a look at Home Depot and other places for grids, but never saw anything appropriate or that wouldn't involve some deal of construction on my part. Now, if you have the tools and the will, I bet you could build your own grid. I was thinking of taking some chicken wire and wood and building a small frame and putting the chicken wire over that... XD I dunno. Okay, I tried Google for the grid things.... this place has them for $30, but that place is in Kansas City... But this place is in Mississauga and they sell something similar, and have a pricing list online. I wish I knew where to get this stuff second-hand, but as that kind of business relies on companies going bankrupt, and is usually auctioned or sold off by roving bankruptcy companies, it would be hard to track down, I suspect. I guess you just have to luck-out that way.

I have this... scroll frame that I was going to use to hold a stretch of fabric where I can display my pins/brooches. Buuut... I don't know how it's going to work out because it doesn't really have a stand. I may end up refunding it and just using a bag with pins on it as a display. le sigh I wish I'd paid more attention to the displays in previous years (but usually, I'm too transfixed on the amazing artwork... ^_^"") I guess I'll learn from you awesomely creative people this year, and improve for next year.
