You get a confirmation number with your name and the amount of tickets you bought. Since it is tickets, I am going to assume that it is okay not to have
everyone's names down if there are multiples. Otherwise, staff should look into why Paypal doesn't provide a "notes" section when the tickets
are bought. I'm sure it can all be sorted out by e-mailing registration, but to prevent 0384758437547 people asking the same question over and over, I am
going to wait a couple of days to see if a post is made.

What it looks like now is that there was a glitch in the registration process - Ball tickets should have worked like regular AN memberships with the spot to write names for multiple registrations. People who have bought tickets should receive: A paypal email receipt and later, an updated Registration Confirmation email. We are working to resolve the issue, what will likely happen is that people who bought tickets will receive a THIRD email, asking for the names of all persons tickets were purchased for. Otherwise, we will run into the situation where a group leader has to pick up tickets for an entire group and it will have to be the name on the credit card, which will cause problems for people who used their parent's card or people who want to pick up their own ticket. |

I think I'm a special case in that I am in a group registration but I'm not the group leader, but I've bought multiple tickets. Not sure if that
causes problems, but I wonder if it's a case to note for a solution. ^^; Ready and waiting any more e-mails that may come my way.

I still haven't received any responses from Ticketing on the issue, so what I'm going by is what you guys are telling me.
The only potential problem we see with the situation: Unless you receive an additional email asking you to provide names (unlikely), go by the following: Only the person whose name the tickets are in may pick them up from the pick-up table. This is different than AN group registration, where each individual can pick up their badges on their own at any time. The person whose name the tickets are in must take all the tickets at the same time and is then responsible for all of them getting to their intended recipients. We can only release tickets to the person whose name we have on our records. We will not "hold" tickets for your group members to pick up later since we have no official records of who they are. It sounds like a small thing, but you'd be surprised how many people will show up and ask for a ticket, not realizing that we don't have their name since someone else bought their ticket. That sounds pretty reasonable.

Again as a reminder, since this is a new page, PLEASE pick up your tickets PRIOR to 7:00pm of Saturday, otherwise you will be asked to leave if you line up
anytime after then.
In addition, if you do line up when the doors are opened, you will be asked to remain at the back of the line as priority will be given to those who've made the effort to pick up the tickets before hand. This is also to avoid a stop-go of the line when many can be passed through without having to needlessly wait for others who did not pre-exchange. ie; It is 9:15 so the doors are open and it takes 15 minutes to pass through guests with their tickets. We will wait 5 minutes for any more priority guests to make another line or pass through before starting ticketing once again. If you do not wish to wait, then it is in your best interest to pick up your tickets before 7:00pm Saturday night.

Hi, quick question.
My friends and I are trying to decide whether we will be attending the ball this year (been both previous years), and I was just wondering if the music has been confirmed for the evening. I know there will be a medieval/renaissance portion (which was good fun last year!) but have any decisions been made about the music for the rest of the evening afterwards? (i.e. 80s/ dance/ hiphop/ tecnho/ jpop)? Sorry to be a bother! Thanks very much! |

I don't remember where, but there are indeed a mention of the music being an 80s genre.

Quick question about rule 7:
Will there be a place where we could perhaps put them (a wall, whatever, just a place to place them so if we want pictures with it, we can just take it back for it and lay it against the wall again afterward, or table whatnot)? There's the masquarade just before, and since I'm at the Holiday Inn I don't think I'll have time to go back and forth just for my sword and accessories (and it's a less than 5 feet fashion type of sword, medieval kinda but black and white, so it would be perfect for pictures...) -&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&-&- To
think I cosplayed Matsumoto (well cosplayed at that!) this Halloween, and I'll cosplay a MAN in AN08 O_O Straps really do wonders!

Nefer:
Hmm... Yes, that is something to consider, people in the masquerade not having somewhere to leave their props. Mind you, there will be about 2 hours between the end-end of the masquerade and the opening of the ball. We'll look into designating an area, either outside by the table, near security, or inside possibly by the DJ booth. It all depends on how many props and how big! I can't say right now for certain, but we'll do our best to come up with something. We cannot guarantee the safety of your prop, however :-p so if it were possible, I'd leave it safe and sound in the hotel room. |

That's true, I didn't see that comment on being able to store weapons or props. Even SpecOps does not even confiscate weapons during the rest of the convention. Though your admittance into events and the con may be thwarted by a violation of the Weapons Check rules, or entrance restrictions (like the Moonlight Masquerade Ball). You will be asked to return the item to your room, or car before you're allowed to enter. If you're going back to your hotel room to change anyway, just leave your props there!

K&G - I didn't say "IN" the DJ booth, rather "beside" it and I did say that the convention and any staff are NOT liable if someone
chooses to leave something lying about.
We are working on a policy, however: As stated, large items are not to be brought to the ball for safety and health reasons. if you choose to bring an item we deem in violation of this policy, you may not bring it inside the ballroom. You will be asked to find somewhere to put the item or not enter the Ball. If you have nowhere to put it and still wish to attend the Ball, you MAY, at your discretion, leaves your item next the the Photo Area outside the Ballroom. There are volunteers at that location, however: Anime North and the Ball Staff/Volunteers make exactly ZERO warranty as to the safety of your item(s) and if you leave an item there and something happens to it, we will not be liable in any way, shape or form. |

regarding the weapons thingie, an option (if theres space near or around the area of the photobooth), its possible it can be left there. I'm one of the
volunteers in that area and I would mind watching some weapons (if possible, other cosplayers can also use it.... I would think they'll take care if using
it)

If my friend gets her costume in time I'll be going as Kaname from Vampire Knight. I was just wondering if masks are going to be sold outside of this event
incase we can't get the ones we want in time?

Once the group dancing is over and we kick it into the modern dancing, it will be 100% Retro-80's this year.
That's just what I was hoping to hear! Thanks very much! Although now I have another question. It is possible that I may have bought one or two tickets too many (depending on how many of my group are going). Is it at all possible to return them? |

Fuzzeh Bunneh wrote: Good question, I'm wondering how the masks will be handled this year as well. I didn't go to the ball last year, but I remember seeing on the website somewhere that there would be a workshop to so we could make our own masks if we wanted. Would there be another workshop to do that this year? Or would everyone have to buy their own masks? Or would both options be available? I remember reading last year that at midnight everyone would have to take their masks off. I didn't see anything about that this year. Would it be the same thing again? |

RavenEphram - Even though you may not say hold responsibility over the object while watching it, you are still deemed liable for it. Say if it's something that someone rarely bought, or worked hard on, then it has value, and when something happens to it under your supervision, there will be a price to pay. We don't want that to happen. As you are part of the event as a volunteer, you are still somewhat staff of the convention as well. SpecOps' rule to absolutely NO item confiscation/watch overs, also rules over staff and volunteers as well, to get rid of all liability. There will be strictly no place to put your prop, item or weapon at all, anywhere near the Moonlight Masquerade Ball, or the Grand Ballroom, including it's upper and lower foyer. If you do not have a room, and are just attending the convention for JUST that day, then stash it away in your car, or find a friend who IS staying, and have them keep it safe for you. Note to the people who DO have rooms and would be willing to do so, any liability will be on you, not the convention. Note to the people who are looking for friends to help keep their prop, weapon or item safe, the responsibility of the object will be under the person safeguarding it. The convention takes no responsibility over lost, stolen or damaged items/goods of ConGuests' property, if it is not Anime North's property. Think of it as bringing your highly prized things to school when you all were younger, the teachers aren't going to do anything about things that you've lost or broken. If that hasn't change yet, why would it start now?
