Hmm. There is very little I'm actually following. That would be two manga series. One is Kekkaishi (the anime was shown at AN last year, but I didn't bother going because I generally prefer things in their original medium and don't really watch much anime ^^; ) by Yellow Tanabe. The other is Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service by Eiji Otsuka and Housui Yamazaki.

Kekkaishi is, generally speaking, your typical shounen coming-of-age/bildungsroman story where people with super cool powers fight demons and secret societies and conspiracies and things ... but it's really well-executed in terms of 1) the idea and 2) the characters. The kekkai (force fields) in this world have pretty specific rules and are quite innovative, so watching a battle play out is a bit more similar to watching an intellectual game like chess and personally more nteresting than just people pulling randomly named/more powerful moves out of their ass. xD The characters are quite charming and creatively designed as well, and I'm a big fan of the protagonist and his love for baking castle cakes. XD

Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service is a really fascinating, tongue-in-cheek series about a group of graduates from a Buddhist university who have weird psychic abilities but no employable skills, so they rally around and form a company that fulfills the final wishes of the dead. XD It's a really sarcastic series with lots of dark humour that, due to the nature of the stories, can get pretty gruesome (lots of corpses, obviously, and murders and whatnot). Overall I'm just so impressed with the writing and the way that Otsuka ties in all these quirky references to historical events, modern-day events (one story even involves the Iraq War), and obscure/bizarre science, urban legends and whatnot. The artwork is really well done too, a very straightforward, neo-realistic style with great linework that doesn't rely on excessive screentones. Also, Dark Horse did an amazing job in translating the series. They have really detailed notes at the end explaining all the cultural references and any editing choices they had to make to make the story more accessible in English. I really recommend this series!

Uhhh in terms of gaming .. I have too much stuff in progress. ^^;; Shadow of the Colossus, Valkyrie Profile 2, Okami ... I mostly DDR now as a sort-of exercise thing. XDDD I think most likely I won't play anything new until the Star Ocean 2 remake comes out for the PSP T_T Work makes me too tired/lazy to do anything it seems D=
