Since there is still no release of a tentative schel yet, what day can we expect to have the Awards to be given out?
I only ask as I normally only go for the 1 day, unless I see a couple things on other days. |

The winners will be revealed this Friday!!!
There has been a change in the schedule. The Exhibition videos have been reincorporated into the main show. So the Exhibitions will start at 10pm in the Plaza Ballroom, followed by the Challenge, and then the finalists. The show will run around 1hr 45. Non-finalists will be shown Sat at 10am. All qualifying videos are shown again in the Sunday afternoon. Hope to see you all there! |

I foresee many a problems with the MVC contest this year, in regards to its time slot and location. Or largely, what is /before/ it and what will likely cause
numerous headaches. The masquerade from my understanding, generally gets good audience numbers, which means, the place is going to be packed already. And the
last time they had us in that room, they tried the "we'll get everyone out first" routine and that was horrible as well.
Ugh. Is there any logical reason why they made such a switch? Last year was done rather excellently other then the few hiccups with the audio(which I'm starting to wonder if it was not the techies, but rather how people encoded their audio, so some had super loud audio which the techs had to turn down the volume, then the next might have really quiet so they'd have to turn it way up, etc)

The audio problems last year were mostly due to the horrible accoustics in the room. One reason why we didn't want to be over there again. However, the
first video had to played very low because of how the audio was encoded.
Last year we were supposed to have no overlap problems with preceding events, but the concert ran over an hour into our time. I'm not happy about following a costuming event, because they usually run over as well, but I think the venue will be much better overall, and hopefully we won't run too late. The videos will run 15min longer than last year, because we've added the Exhibitions and there are 9 qualifying Challenge videos, but if the cosplayers can get out of there quickly, we should be fine. Believe me, it will be a faster turnover following them than it was following the concert. We won't have to tear down the stage for one thing. The Masquerade proper is Saturday night, so we won't have to worry about that level of crowding. This is a smaller costuming contest, but yes, it will get a good audience. We'll see. |
