I'm certain that many of you (if not all) have encountered loli at least once (if not several or many) times in your anime viewing. I'm talking
about the moe, the tsundere, the gar; all that good stuff. Charcterized by the small-budding breasts, big eyes, petite body and all the lolicious charm,
it's obvious: loli's are adorable.
And loli sells.
With titles like Magical Girl Lyricl Nanoha, Shakugan no Shana, Zero no Tsukaima and Lucky Star, it makes us wonder: what is it that makes these shows so
enjoyable? Is it the riviting story, stunning animation, character cohesion, and supeb voice acting that makes us enjoy these series so much? Perhaps the
strong humour, high drama and fanservice? Or... is there something more?
Granted that the animation and the voiceacting/audio are an integral part in determining the enjoyability of an anime, there appears to be another benefit that
only loli's can provide. Loli's provide more than just fanservice. There are things that only loli's can present, something that big-breasted girls
can't. That's the loli-factor.
What is the intrigue that loli brings out? Why can't it be substituted? What would it be like if the loli characters weren't loli? Questions like these
will be covered in greater depth, citing many different anime.
