Prints Matte vs Glossy?

Which do you prefer?? Matte or Glossy? Which are you doing?

I like Matte, but the colors are not so true. So i'm sticking to glossy...

Sharing a table with a friend?
Selling the artwork of a friend not at the con or in Artist Alley?

In order to represent someone else (by selling their work) you need this form:

Fill it out, get the appropriate signatures and bring it to Alley Registration where you'll turn it in to the coordinator.

Permission to sell someone else's art form?

I thought there was going to be a form created for those of us who are selling artwork other than our own at our tables and need to prove we have persmission from the original artists?

I may have missed it, but if there wasn't/isn't a form, is all we need a piece of paper that says for example:

I, *insert name of person a*, give *insert name of person b* permission to sell my artwork in the artist alley at Anime North 2008. Signed, *person a*

about comercially made patterns

Hello,

I also wanted to ask this...
In t he 2008 AN's no-no list, it states that we are not allowed sell any "comercially made" items with our artworks on. (e.g. premade wallent patterns)
Does this rule apply to ALL comercially made items? For example, if I wanted to make a character hairpin, could I not buy a bunch of hairpins from a dollar shop and use them? Or if I wanted to print my artwork on a plastic folder, is that not allowed either?

Countdown~! How are we planning our time?

With AN a little over a month away, how is everybody managing their time with getting all their goods ready? Some people in post-secondary are out of school now, but for high school students I know it can be a crazy time of year to get everything ready. Me, I procrastinated all year ^^;;

I'm about 1/3rd done my keychain designs and got 3 prints. I'm hoping to make 2 designs a week, and roughly 4 keychain designs a week. (they'll be double-sided with different designs on...

Payment deadline for tables was only a couple days ago so I realize things are still being worked out, but I was wondering roughly when we might be finding out who on the waiting list will be given a chance to get a table? how do you guys set up your stuff?
me doing a newb last year, really didn't prepare any solid display material. i just placed my prints on the table mostly flat and raised few popular ones with cardboard oi... this year i am trying to be more organized.

Concerning Due Dates

Hey there, people! Just a quick reminder regarding the due date extensions mentioned on the forum a few weeks ago.

Due to the early holiday season, the Canadian Post was not going to deliver on Good Friday or Easter Monday. To compensate for the lost mail days, there was an extension on when registration forms were due. The due date was changed to April 1 as opposed to March 28.

However, since the holiday season has no effect on email, the extension did not include art...

Alternate names for Tables

I had originally sent in both my registration as well as my alternate's registrations together. Unfortunately, I received an email today informing me that the email I had sent in regards to my alternate was not received, most likely through a fault of my own, and that it would now be impossible for me to have her as my alternate. I was wondering if there was any way to resend the email since the deadline for sending in the registrations is tomorrow anyways.

It was done fast and the dye was black.

I was wondering what was used? I would like to use it for one of my art assignments for school.

Permission Question

I realize that to sell other people's artwork that we need to obtain written permission from them to do it. Do send these contracts by mail? Do we give them to the staff when we get our AA badges? Do we just hold onto them and present them upon request during the con? What do we do with them?

So I've been trying to look into how, when, where and how much I can get prints of my work done for... any ideas? I've heard that you can get your prints done thru the print shop at the con, but for how much exactly, and how do you send in your work to have it done? I've never made prints of my work before so I have no idea how to go about any of this ^^;

Here is the list of reservations whose payments and registration forms have arrived. If there are any discrepancies with your payment (IE: check bounced, check was addressed incorrectly), I will promptly contact you. Please do remember that checks that bounce will be charged an extra $20 to cover the bank fees.
